Position Overview:
The Gemini Portfolio, comprising seven business units, is seeking a skilled Website Developer - WordPress proficient in WordPress to manage, maintain, and optimize our web presence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to follow detailed instructions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align web initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Convert PSD designs into high-quality, responsive HTML and integrate them into WordPress.
• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes to match design specifications.
• Implement front-end animations and interactive elements to enhance user experience.
• Ensure all development work is WC3 compliant and follows best coding practices.
• Develop mobile-first, responsive designs that work seamlessly across all devices.
• Set up and configure WordPress backend, including database management, plugin integration, and performance optimization.
• Ensure that WordPress pages are fully dynamic, are user friendly so that content managers can easily make edits to content or images on each page from within WP Admin.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues related to WordPress themes, plugins, and core functionality.
• Optimize website speed, performance, and security to meet industry standards.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure good quality work that meets project and company standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
• Demonstrate project planning skills to manage tasks efficiently.
• Listen to instructions and execute tasks accordingly.
• Work in a reasonably quick manner while maintaining quality.
• Be a dependable and reliable team member.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in Front-End Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap.
• Strong experience with PSD to HTML conversion and UI development.
• Hands-on expertise in WordPress theme development and customization.
• Experience with front-end animations using CSS animations, GSAP, or similar libraries.
• Knowledge of WC3 compliance and best practices for accessibility and SEO.
• Strong understanding of mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
• Backend knowledge, including WordPress setup, database management, and plugin customization.
• Familiarity with PHP, MySQL, and REST API integrations.
• Experience with website performance optimization and security best practices.
• Ability to work in an agile development environment and meet project deadlines.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take direction and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SEO best practices.
• Strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Be able to prove your capabilities with examples of your work.
