Position Overview:
We are looking for a Trainee WordPress Developer to join one of our R&D teams. The selected candidates will be trained for 3 to 3.5 months to become good developers capable of working on enterprise-level applications. After the end of the internship period, there is a good possibility of full-time employment based on satisfactory performance during the internship.
The chosen individuals will work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development, customization, and maintenance of WordPress websites.
• Support the team in building responsive and user-friendly web pages using themes and page builders.
• Work with plugins, widgets, and basic theme customization.
• Help in debugging issues and performing routine site updates and backups.
• Collaborate with designers and senior developers to implement new features and improvements.
• Ensure all development work is WC3 compliant and follows best coding practices.
• Good knowledge of mobile-first, responsive designs that work seamlessly across all devices.
• Having a good level of knowledge to implement front-end animations and interactive elements to enhance the user experience.
• Participate in code reviews and follow best development practices.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders.
• Demonstrate good learning skills.
• Listen to instructions and execute tasks accordingly.
• Be a dependable and reliable team member.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Have a strong understanding of WordPress CMS and its architecture.
• Having a good knowledge of how to convert PSD designs into high-quality, responsive HTML and integrate them into WordPress.
• Having a good knowledge of how to develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes to match design specifications.
• Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and SEO best practices.
• Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
• Eagerness to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take.
