Senior WordPress Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and performance-driven Senior WordPress Developer to join our growing engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain high-performing, SEO-optimized WordPress applications that drive traffic and support business goals. You will lead the effort in ensuring fast, scalable, and technically sound implementations that contribute to exceptional site performance and search visibility.

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop scalable, maintainable, and SEO-optimized WordPress web applications.

·       Architect WordPress solutions with a strong emphasis on performance and technical SEO.

·       Build custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks that adhere to modern coding standards.

·       Maintain and enhance reusable code libraries to improve development efficiency.

·       Refactor, optimize, and modernize legacy codebases to improve performance and maintainability.

·       Ensure adherence to software development best practices and timely delivery of features.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SEO, marketing, content) to plan and implement performance-focused features.

·       5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development, with strong expertise in Object-Oriented PHP, custom themes, plugins, hooks, and ACF (Advanced Custom Fields).

·       3+ years of experience in front-end development using modern HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and related frameworks/libraries.

·       Proven experience developing custom Gutenberg blocks (JavaScript/React-based).

·       Strong understanding of SEO principles and experience implementing technical SEO best practices in WordPress.

·       Proven experience optimizing web performance including page load times, Core Web Vitals, and efficient asset delivery.

·       Version control experience with Git and working within collaborative development environments.

·       Strong communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.

·       Previous experience with multi-language/multi-site WordPress installations.

·       Familiarity with MVC frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony) and templating engines (e.g., Twig, Blade).

·       Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs.

·       Working knowledge of Alpine.js or React.js.

·       Familiarity with headless WordPress or decoupled architecture.
