WordPress Development
Firewater has been around for 26 years and we’re still weird enough to enjoy it. Now we’re looking for a WordPress developer who actually builds things. Not someone who assembles sites from marketplace parts - someone who writes the parts.

If you can make WordPress dance, bend WooCommerce without breaking it, and stay calm when PHP decides to throw a tantrum, you might be the one.

We don’t want a keyboard philosopher arguing on Reddit or collecting memes all day. We want someone who lives the web, dreams in clean code, and gets quietly excited by an elegant API response.

Job responsibilities:

  • Being the oracle of all things WordPress, from technical scoping and planning to implementation and deployment.

  • Building websites (mostly WordPress and WooCommerce) that are fast, functional, and easy on the eyes and search engines roll out the red carps for you.

  • Developing custom themes, plugins, and API integrations that make clients say, “Wait, you can do that?”

  • Keeping things running smoothly through website maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting.

  • Performing QA and bug fixes before anyone even notices something’s off.

  • Occasionally guiding clients through their CMS like a digital spirit guide.

You’ve got experience (4+ years, to be specific) and serious skills in:

    • WordPress, inside and out: custom themes, plugins, functions, hooks, the works.

    • WooCommerce, because e -commerce doesn’t scare you.

    • HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery, PHP, Git, the usual suspects.

    • API integrations: REST, JSON, and other acronyms that make the web go round.

    • MySQL and database management.

    • Familiarity with hosting environments such as cPanel, WHM, Plesk, and sFTP.

    • Version control and not losing your cool when merging branches.

    • A touch of Photoshop or equivalent for resizing and optimising the occasional image.

    • Debugging under pressure without flipping a table.

    • A comprehensive portfolio of previous work.

A bonus if you can wield Linux like a medieval swordsmith.

      The ideal you:

      • You’re logical, methodical, and know your way around website architecture.

      • You notice the tiny details; that one -pixel misalignment keeps you up at night.

      • You communicate like a human (and spell like one too).

      • You play nicely with others (and don’t hoard the coffee).

      • You’re self -driven, dependable, and disciplined with your time because great code doesn’t write itself.

If you’re ready to build things that matter, impress clients, and occasionally survive a Friday deadline with style, step up to the plate.
