The WordPress Developer is responsible for the development and long-term maintenance of applications built on WordPress. This role involves creating responsive websites that meet a wide range of client needs and collaborating closely with a cross-functional team to build and maintain custom WordPress solutions. From plugin development to front-end implementation, your work will have a direct impact on Insomniac’s WordPress projects. 

This position requires a combination of programming skills (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on).  The best candidates will have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems.

Responsibilities:

    • Build and maintain custom WordPress sites, themes, and plugins in PHP.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve layout bugs, plugin conflicts, and performance issues.
    • Ensure Q/A practices are implemented and met across all work and projects.
    • Apply current best practices for performance, security, and SEO.

Skills & Experience:

    • Basic Written/Spoken English skills.
    • 2-3 years of WordPress experience.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
    • Ability to work collaboratively on a team.
    • Experience working with TWIG Template Engine.
    • Good PHP knowledge, understanding, and development skills (outside of WordPress).
    • CSS & Styling (Sass/SCSS, Bootstrap)
