We are looking for a WordPress Developer (Freelance/Contract) to join our team. In this role, you will work on building and maintaining WordPress-based web properties with a strong focus on clean markup, page performance, and SEO best practices. You will collaborate with our design and marketing teams to deliver fast, well-structured websites that rank and convert. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and can operate independently with minimal hand-holding.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins according to design specifications
• Write clean, semantic HTML/CSS with attention to cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
• Implement and maintain on-page SEO: meta tags, structured data, page speed optimization, Core Web Vitals
• Integrate and configure SEO plugins (Yoast, Rank Math, etc.) and analytics tools (GA4, GTM)
• Work with page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg) where required without sacrificing code quality
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver on time
• Maintain existing WordPress sites: updates, security patches, performance audits

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial WordPress development experience
• Strong HTML/CSS skills — pixel-accurate markup, no heavy reliance on drag-and-drop
• Solid understanding of on-page and technical SEO fundamentals
• Experience with page speed optimization (caching, image compression, lazy loading, CDN setup)
• Familiarity with Git and basic deployment workflows
• Ability to read and write code without a page builder as a crutch

Nice to Have

• Experience with WooCommerce
• Basic PHP / JavaScript knowledge for custom functionality
• Familiarity with performance tools: Lighthouse, GTmetrix, PageSpeed Insights
