ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a front-end WordPress developer, you will be responsible for the user interface of our website. Qualified candidates will be expected to have an advanced working knowledge of WordPress, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript as well as hands on experience with user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design. Your duties will include turning wireframes and mock-ups into reusable code and building high-quality UI components with scalability in mind. You will have understanding on the integration of plugins such as WooCommerce. You will also be responsible for implementing new features to our WordPress website, and performing routine maintenance and performance optimizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • build web applications with web development best practices
  • transform app designs into front-end code with WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • work with back-end developers to integrate UI components with APIs and databases
  • gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical requirements or UX designΒ 
  • debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine performance optimizations
  • manage the on-site search engine optimization (SEO)
  • write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code
  • stay plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends

REQUIREMENTS:

On day one, we'll expect you to...

  • have aΒ Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  • have a minimum of 4 yearsΒ experience developing modern, responsive, and cross-browser-compatible websites using WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • have experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and Bootstrap
  • be proficient with HTML5, including semantic HTML5 elements, microformats, and WAI-ARIA
  • be familiar with CSS preprocessors such as Sass, Less, or Tailwind CSS
  • have working knowledge of SEO principles
  • have experience with build tools such as Grunt, Gulp, or Webpack
  • have basic proficiency with Photoshop or Figma
  • have experience with cross-browser compatibility testing
  • have experience with responsive web design
  • be familiar with W3C and W3GAC html standards
  • have a fully functional and up-to-date computer with which to perform duties
  • be willing to install next-generation endpoint protection on the computer
  • be a current resident of the Philippines and can perform work from there
  • be willing to work in US Pacific business hours (8am-5pm PST which corresponds to 12am-9am PH time, if not DST)
