Senior Wordpress Developer (VIP)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end WordPress website development — from design integration to deployment and maintenance.

• Manage WordPress VIP and multisite environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and stability. 

• Strong knowledge of PHP coding with the ability to develop and customise WordPress themes and plugins.

• Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and security.

• Collaborate with designers, content teams, and project managers to deliver high-quality digital solutions.

• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior developers.

• Manage migrations, version control (Git), and deployment processes.

• Stay updated with the latest WordPress, PHP, and JavaScript trends, best practices, and frameworks.

• Ensure mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency in WordPress (custom themes & plugin development).

• In-depth knowledge of PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3/SASS.

• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), WPBakery, Elementor, or Gutenberg blocks.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, WooCommerce, and headless WordPress setups.

• Strong understanding of security practices, page speed optimization, and technical SEO.

• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and staging/production workflows.

• Experience integrating 3rd-party services and APIs (CRM, marketing automation, analytics, etc.).

• Knowledge of hosting environments (e.g., WP Engine, WP VIP, AWS, or Cloudways).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, or Next.js) is a plus.

• Experience managing WordPress multisite or enterprise-level projects.

• Familiarity with Figma-to-WordPress conversions and design systems.

• Prior experience working in an agency environment or handling client communication.
