About the Role

We are seeking a Lead WordPress Developer to develop, maintain, optimize, and scale our corporate website end-to-end. This role suits a technically strong, performance-driven engineer who collaborates with marketing, design, SEO, and product teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences that drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.
• Lead end-to-end WordPress development projects, from requirements to deployment.
• Customize core WordPress functionality following best coding practices.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, security, and SEO optimization of sites.
• Integrate third-party APIs, CRMs, payment gateways, and marketing tools.
• Optimize website speed, database performance, and server configurations.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and backend teams.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level developers.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
• Manage website migrations, backups, and version control (Git).
• Stay current with WordPress trends, plugins, and security updates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience.
• Strong expertise in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• In-depth knowledge of WordPress architecture, hooks, actions, filters, and REST API.
• Proven experience with custom theme and plugin development.
• Experience with WooCommerce customization and development.
• Familiarity with page builders (Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery, etc.).
• Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
• Experience with performance optimization (caching, CDN, lazy loading).
• Strong understanding of WordPress security best practices.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Experience working with Linux servers, cPanel, or cloud hosting environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Headless WordPress and frontend frameworks (React, Next.js).
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
