About the Position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled WordPress Website Maintenance and Support Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, updating, and supporting WordPress websites, as well as assisting with customer support inquiries, technical SEO optimization, HTML form development, and overall website performance improvements. Responsibilities:

Website Maintenance & Support

  • Complete regular maintenance requests on WordPress websites.
  • Identify and fix bugs and errors on websites as assigned.
  • Ensure compatibility and functionality after updates
  • Focus on attention to detail and quality.
  • Provide support in areas like theme customization and plugin configuration.
  • Execute website updates and changes as requested by clients through work orders, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

Customer Support Assistance

  • Assist in responses to Zendesk support tickets in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues assigned by the support manager.
  • Document solutions and update ticket status.

HTML Form Development

  • Complete PDF to HTML forms conversions using an existing CSS framework.

Technical SEO Support

  • Assist in fixing SEO-related technical issues in themes, layouts, general code optimization.
  • Assist in improving website speed and performance using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and others.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical problems with websites, including plugin conflicts, layout issues, or coding errors.

Skills / Experience:

  • Proven experience with WordPress development and maintenance
  • Experience working with custom WordPress themes
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript, and basic PHP
  • Advanced understanding of DNS and hosting environments
  • Familiar with website optimization plugins such as WP Rocket
  • Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage support requests effectively
  • General knowledge of website optimization techniques for performance and SEO
  • Generative AI experience, such as ChatGPT for debugging / code optimization
  • Experience with website performance tools like GTmetrix, Pingdom, or Google PageSpeed Insights
  • Experience with website security best practices and tools (plus)
  • Experience with Google Analytics (GA), Google Search Console (GSC), and Google Business Profile (plus)

What to Expect When Applying:

  • Our HR Manager will review applications.
  • Applicants will go through a short phone screening process to gather more information
  • Candidates still in the running for the position will then be required to take a 10 minute skills assessment.
  • Upon passing the skill evaluation, potential hires will have a formal interview via video call with the HR Manager, a member of the Marketing Department, and at least one of our two company co-founders. All applicants given an offer letter will be subject to a standard background check. We also complete an i-9 check for eligibility to work within the United States and complete a W-2 check in case of multi-employment situations.
