General Responsibilities

As part of the Communications and Public Engagement team, and under the general direction of the Director of Creative & Web Development, the WordPress Support Specialist assists the WordPress Developer/Content Marketing Manager in managing website projects for ESD 112 programs and school districts.


Salary:

The full hourly range is $32.09 - $39.04. Offers are made at the entry level of the range. 

Assignment:

The person in this role will work as needed, with a maximum of 40 hours per month. The position will  have a hybrid work schedule, with the ability to work on site in Vancouver, WA as needed.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:

  1. Assist in working with school districts or other educational agencies in the development and maintenance of websites.
  2. Assist in designing digital graphics to support website updates and digital newsletter development. 
  3. Maintain a knowledge of current web and graphic design tools and other relevant software, such as Microsoft 365 software and Adobe Creative Suite.
  4. Assist in updating WordPress, theme and plugins for hosted websites on a monthly basis. 
  5. Communicate effectively with staff and the general public through digital meeting spaces like Zoom, via email or Teams, in writing, or in person. 

Other Functions:

  1. Establish and maintain strong, positive working relationships with ESD 112 departments and school districts. 
  2. Other Duties as assigned. 

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED and three or more years of experience in website design. 
  2. Two or more years of experience updating and maintaining content on WordPress platform. 
  3. Experience working with Microsfot 365 Software and Adobe Creativce Suite products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional.
  4. Experience using Google Analytics (setup and reporting). 
  5. Understanding of CSS and HTML.
  6. Understanding of website accessibility (ADA) requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience building WordPress websites using Divi and Avada builder themes or similar.
  2. Three or more years of experience working with Adobe Creative Suite software to design print and digital graphics.
  3. Experience designing using Canva.
  4. Experience managing and updating WordPress websites inclduing hosting, CMS software, plugin and theme updates. 
  5. Ability to troubleshoot website/WordPress issues. 
  6. Experience working in a K-12 educational or agency environment.

  1. Successful completion of a criminal history records checks through the Washington State Patrol.
