WordPress Front-End Developer

Nefesh B’Nefesh is seeking a talented WordPress Front-End Developer to bring UI/UX designs to life by building responsive, high-performance websites using WordPress. In this role, you will be responsible for translating design mockups into fully functional web pages using a designated WordPress theme, ensuring an optimal experience across both desktop and mobile devices. You will also customize and maintain themes and plugins, troubleshoot minor technical issues, and optimize sites for performance and SEO. It’s full-time and based in our Jerusalem office with an option for hybrid work!

Job Description

• Develop and implement web pages in WordPress based on designs provided by UI/UX designers, ensuring responsiveness and seamless performance on all devices.
• Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet the organization’s specific needs.
• Build, style, and optimize web forms using form-building plugins.
• Maintain and update WordPress themes, plugins, and core files while ensuring compatibility and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues related to WordPress, themes, and plugins.
• Evaluate, install, and configure new plugins as needed, ensuring seamless integration into the existing WordPress environment.
• Optimize websites for speed, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
• Ensure all website elements follow best practices for usability and user experience.
• Work closely with designers, marketers, and content teams to ensure a cohesive digital experience.

Requirements

1. WordPress Development
   • Experience with WordPress themes and plugins (customizing and maintaining)
   • Page builder experience (e.g., Avada, Elementor, Gutenberg, Divi)
   • Understanding of WordPress core functions and template hierarchy, WordPress Hooks (Actions & Filters)
2. Front-End Development
   • HTML5, CSS3
   • Basic knowledge of JavaScript & jQuery
   • PHP (Basic) (For theme customization, template modifications)
3. Theme & Plugin Customization
   • Ability to modify existing themes to match UI/UX design
   • Creating or editing child themes
   • Tweaking or extending plugin functionalities as needed
4. Web Forms & Integrations
   • Experience with form plugins (Gravity Forms) to create and style web forms
   • Basic knowledge of API integration (e.g., MailChimp, Zapier, HubSpot)
5. WordPress Maintenance & Troubleshooting
   • Updating themes, plugins, and WordPress core safely
   • Debugging minor issues with themes or plugins
   • Managing and optimizing website performance
6. Multilingual Web Development
   • Experience with WPML or Polylang for multi-language websites
7. SEO Best Practices
   • On-page SEO (meta tags, heading structure, schema markup)
   • Familiarity with SEO plugins (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All-in-One SEO)
   • Image optimization and performance improvements
8. Photoshop
