What you’ll do?

We are seeking a talented Frontend WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team in Notting Hill. You will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly websites that enhance the user experience and collaborate closely with our Dev team to ensure that aesthetics and functionality align perfectly. 

  • Develop and customise responsive WordPress themes and templates using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Collaborate with designers and backend developers to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.
  • Optimise websites for performance, speed, and SEO best practices.
  • Work with WordPress plugins, page builders (e.g., Elementor), and custom post types.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and maintain existing WordPress websites.
  • Integrate APIs and third-party tools to extend site functionality.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness across devices.

What you’ll bring?

  • Proven experience as a Frontend Developer with a focus on WordPress.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and PHP.
  • Familiarity with WordPress REST API and JSON, and experience with popular page builders (Elementor).
  • Solid understanding of SEO, web performance optimisation, and accessibility standards.
  • Version control knowledge, with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with design tools like Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch.
  • Understanding of backend development concepts (e.g., MySQL).
  • Basic knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).

What else do you need to apply?

  • Start within a 4-week time frame, ideally
  • Travel on-site to our office in Notting Hill.
  • Must be an Australian resident available to work full time without restrictions

Compnow will provide and require all successful applicants to complete a current National Police Check as well as a new or updated state-based Working With Children Check.
