Introduction

As a WordPress wizard, you'll be the maestro behind website planning and development, harmonising with internal teams and third-party suppliers. Your magic touch ensures a smooth journey from concept to reality, keeping stakeholders happy and budgets intact. Teaming up with UX/UI team, you'll conjure up websites that are both visually stunning and user-friendly. With your coding prowess, you'll craft websites from scratch, optimising them for peak performance and SEO spells. You'll safeguard data with regular backups and fend off any cyber villains threatening uptime. In short, you're the digital architect ensuring websites sparkle from start to finish!


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain web applications using PHP, HTML5, Python, JS, Django, Bootstrap, CSS, WordPress, SEO, WooCommerce, Magento, Shopify, UX, and JavaScript. (Wordpress is the core focus, the others are beneficial)

  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets industry standards

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues

  • Optimise website performance to ensure fast page load times and smooth user experience

  • Implement SEO best practices to improve website rankings and visibility

  • Develop and customise WordPress plugins and themes

  • Customise Magento, WooCommerce, and Shopify plugins to meet specific business needs

  • Ensure that all web applications are responsive and accessible on all devices and browsers

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging web development technologies and best practices

  • Mentor and coach junior developers as the team grows

  • Build out the business unit and offering within the business with the support of the MD and Exco team


Desired Experience & Qualification


  • Proven 4 years + experience in web development using PHP, HTML5, Python, Django, Bootstrap, CSS, WordPress and JavaScript

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and project management tools

  • Understanding of responsive design, website optimisation, and web security best practices

  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior developers

  • Strong understanding of UX principles and ability to create intuitive user interfaces

  • Experience with API integrations and development

  • Experience with cloud-based web hosting platforms

  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new features, functionality, and design


Package & Remuneration

R20 000 - R30 000 per month (based on experience)
