This is a remote position.
We are seeking a skilled WordPress developer to work on WordPress websites, plugin development, theme development, and custom functionality. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in WordPress and be proficient in problem-solving new WordPress site requirements. They will be responsible for performing code review, as well as remediating performance issues to ensure optimal site performance.
As a WordPress developer, you will collaborate with a team or work independently, depending on the project. Therefore, the ability to work effectively in both scenarios is crucial. Additionally, the nature of web development requires the ability to context switch frequently, as priorities and projects may change rapidly. However, there may be instances where you will work on a single web project for an extended period, and the candidate should be comfortable with a lack of variety in such cases.
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of their code and site functionality, treating them as if they were their own. This level of dedication is essential to ensure that our clients receive the best WordPress site possible.
Responsibilities

Develop WordPress websites, plugins, and themes according to project requirements

Collaborate with the team or work independently on assigned projects

Solve problems and fulfill new WordPress site requirements

Willing to work with deep-code page builders
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with WordPress PHP & Javascript
- Proven experience as a WordPress developer or similar role
- Proficiency in WordPress development, including plugin and theme development
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new requirements
- Knowledge of code review practices and experience with quality assurance
- Able to understand functionality before builds & ideate client needs
- Understanding of performance optimization techniques for WordPress sites
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the project
- Flexibility and adaptability to context switch frequently
- Willing and able to document daily progress in tickets
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Ability to work on a single web project for an extended period, if necessary
- Dedication to treating code and site functionality as if it were your own
- Ability to perform peer testing
- Ability to work with or learn Jira for daily tasks
